    Marketing Manager

    The primary objective of this position is to develop and manage global marketing strategies and processes for designated Chauvet brands, products and market segments. The marketing manager effectively formulates, directs, manages and implements marketing strategies for trussing for lighting in event productions, tradeshows, mobile and retail applications.

    Job Requirements include the following essential duties and responsibilities:

    Develop at least one yearly marketing plan, in consultation with product development and sales departments, to meet marketing objectives. Formulate a budget to meet organizational objectives and submit it to the Vice President for approval. Manage the marketing budget. Stay abreast of changes in the industry to best serve the objectives of the organization and adjust plans accordingly. Conduct, assess and guide marketing efforts and programs to effectively position existing and future products, product lines and brands.

    Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results in designated market segments. Provide monthly analytical reports and action plans to the Vice President.

    Conduct and gather market research, competitive analyses, product positioning statements and solicit input from sales and product managers to formulate and implement the strategic planning and execution of marketing initiatives designed to build brand awareness within specified market segments and sales of designated products, sub-brands and related accessories. This includes training and sales presentation tools, customer engagement and education programs, all publicity, web sites, product reviews, social sites networking, digital marketing, trade shows, customer relations, public relations, blogs and forums and marketing collaterals.

    Build and maintain strong relationships with the media, key industry professionals and the global network of dealers, representatives and distributors of designated brands and market segments. Provide and present training materials and brand guidelines to ensure the alignment of communication tactics across channels of distribution.

    Plan and negotiate corporate partnerships, cross-marketing, and product placements at high profile events, performances, entertainment venues and clubs around the world.

    Build and maintain relations with key influencers in designated market segments. These may include top LJs, DJ’s, LD’s, producers, event, architects and any other high profile influencers in designated market segment (s). Obtain and negotiate product endorsements, product placements, advertising and appearances by industry pundits, designers, high profile DJs, LDs, Architects and production houses in designated market segments.

    Direct, approve, execute and oversee marketing materials, as needed, including box packaging and design, website content, adverts, silk screens, photography, videography and all other collateral materials needed to ensure successful branding or positioning of assigned product lines/brands. Oversee all marketing activities, including creative services, advertising, web and public relations relevant to the designated market segments.

    Work collaboratively with other marketing managers to ensure an overall consistency and cohesiveness of our corporate brand and maximize the efficient use of marketing resources.

    Conceptualize, execute and attend trade shows and promotional events as needed.

    Accomplish human resource objectives by contributing to staff selection, orientation, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions; communicating job expectations; monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures.
    Help develop and mentor a productive and capable marketing staff. Provide timely development and performance feedback on direct reports and other marketing staff as required.

    Other duties including management of direct reports, as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor’s Degree preferably in marketing and a minimum of 3 years experience in a marketing leadership position. A candidate without a college degree must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of solid performance as a marketing or brand manager. Demonstrated experience in marketing technical products. Ability to rapidly develop a keen understanding of the designated market segment, a must. Familiarity with trussing entertainment lighting applications and rigging preferred. Additionally, work experience in professional lighting and related accessories and demonstrated knowledge of DMX-controlled lighting, preferred.

    Physical Demands:

    Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The work may involve exposure to extreme noise levels. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee will routinely be required to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted, and may occasionally be required to assist others to lift or move more than 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Overnight travel and extended international travel via air or land transportation required.
