A conversation I had about programming “ambidexterity” and console choice the other day has been sticking in my mind like white on rice, a glass of milk, and a paper plate in a snowstorm. Â I’m curious as to what the JimOnLight.com Community as a whole considers its favorite console or consoles.

If you happen to program on something or really like programming on something NOT on this list, would you leave a comment and let us know what that console might be?
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
I’m not a programmer elitist, but love is a little strong… I can figure them out 😛
maybe this should be a multiple choice poll….
I have been using LSC Clarity for a bit now. Its pretty fun to use.
I use a Jands Vista T2. Why is Vista not on your list?
I’m in an open relationship with grandMA2.
Or possibly, “it’s complicated” with Wholehog.
There is always the divide of what I want and what I am given.
ETC, but not because I prefer it, but ’cause it’s the only console we have at our college theatre. But, to be fair, up till now I like it pretty much.
Strand 500 series bitches!!!!
Eos is fancy
MA rocks it
Hog is garbage that crashes every ten minutes
I’ve been using ETC consoles for years, so I’m most familiar with them. I have to say, the one time I used a Hog, it was not a pleasant experience. Crashing during a show is not ok. At the moment though, I’m developing my own control solution for Android (similar to Luminair for iOS). I figure I can add in any features i want that way 🙂
Can’t beat the price point on Ion’s / Element’s compared to other consoles for theater.
I like to program on a LSC Clarity
For larger Installations I use Ecue Programmer and the pending products. For scene based lighting controls I recommend Zumtobel Emotion and DIMLITE.
