Jamy Yang’s Sculpture of Skin

This is fairly Magritte, isn’t it?  This is Sculptural Skin, a light fixture/sculture piece by Y-Town and Jamy Yang.  The source itself is simple enough, but the shade is of particular attention.  Yang’s shade for the Sculptural Skin is made from thin wood veneer – which might seem like a redundant phrase, but the veneer is translucent and natural colored.  The fixture appears as if Jamy Yang was so extremely talented with a planer that he was able to pull off one continuous strip and wrap it into a very pretty shade.

The base is simple enough – in one model the base consists of what appears to be a flexible conduit of sorts.  A floor model exists, but I was unable to find an image.  What do you think?
