I don’t know if you’ve noticed lately, but we’ve had a few issues with our hosting company lately.  Users have been reporting “500 errors” (which means that the server is having some issues), and JimOnLight.com has been experiencing little bits of downtime over the last month or so.

First of all, I am really sorry about that!
Second, we are doing all kinds of innovative things here at JimOnLight.com to make sure that this crap stops happening!

There’s so much awesome traffic on the website that we’ve begun to find new ways to make reading JimOnLight.com as fast as possible, and with quick response.  As of today, we moved our image files from the shared server at our hosting company to Amazon’s S3 cloud – we’re expecting this move to make all kinds of fantastic improvements in the performance of the website!

Until we figure out why the server has been performing so badly lately, we have to make a few very temporary adjustments to the RSS feed for JimOnLight.com.  For a little bit we have to reduce the RSS feed to the first 300 characters with no images.  I am sorry about that, and we will fix it as soon as we analyze the server logs and figure out the problem.  Come visit the site though, I love having you there.

Thank you for visiting the website so much!  I am honored that you all come to read!
